A Phish is a phony email asking customers to update their account information.  A link in the email takes customers to a bogus website where they are asked for Debit and ATM Card and PIN numbers.

Once the Phisher's get the numbers, they run through fraudulent charges and ATM withdrawals.  If the customer account is not overdrawn, the theft may not be known until the next statement.

The perpetrators use the logo and color scheme from the bank website, or scans of bank advertising material, to make the fraudulent email and website look authentic.

MICR Automation addresses the Phishing threat with a new customer service that can stop fraud in its tracks, enhance your bank's reputation, and do it all inexpensively and automatically.

The New MICR Automation Daily Email and Internet System automatically sends daily emails to customers showing all transactions, and provides a low cost and secure self-hosted website containing check images and transaction details.

The entire system and all equipment costs less than most banks spend on basic Internet Banking websites, and can also handle Internet Banking and ACH origination for commercial customers.

Some Recent Phish Examples:

Showing customers daily what is happening in their accounts means that fraudulent transactions can be discovered in time to return them, and gives customers the ability to protect themselves in a realistic way.

The automatic daily email shows each amount with a brief description.   Click here to see a sample email.

Customers can receive all their accounts in one email, and accounts can be sent to several people if desired.

Logging on to the bank website allows your customers to view the check images or transaction information.

The automatic daily emails can contain an advertising message and a fraud warning caution message.

The dramatic increase in electronic commerce is bringing a new class of cyber-criminals into the game, and their ingenuity is amazing.  However, there always has to be a bank of first deposit.  Notifying customers daily of what is actually being charged to their accounts lets fraudulent items be returned to the bank of first deposit, and shifts the problem back to where it belongs.  An informed customer is the only certain defense.

The MICR Automation Daily Email and Internet System was designed to turn the phishing threat into an opportunity to serve your customers.  It not only stops phishing, but minimizes the damage from all sorts of identity theft, mistakes, and common old fashioned criminality.
